Well, as I sat down to put some thoughts on paper about what has been going on I had many ideas of where I was going to go with this article. It turns out that I was wrong with all of them. My first rant is not going to be political, speak about family values, or even be controversial. It’s going to be about cancer.

I know, why in the hell would I make my first post be about something that is universally hated? I suppose that I asked myself this very question as I began to put the word on the page. This probably won’t even be much of a rant. When I first thought about this website and all the things that I have strong opinions on, never did I think that I would have my first article on this topic. In fact, I never thought I would write about this as one of my rants, because I wanted to create this page as a way to put my thoughts, values, and ideologies out for others to see. The reason behind it is simple. In my short life of 34 years, I have seen several friends and family members fight this fucking disease. Today, I found out another one is battling against it. The same cancer that recently took a close friend and co-worker.

I don’t have any doubt that there are those who have lost so much more than me, and I am not writing this to bring light to my personal loss, I just wanted to simply state that cancer fucking sucks. I hope that this will be my only post on this topic that probably has touched everyone reading this in some way or another. I have many ideas of what I want to write about, but currently I can’t get them out of my mind and onto paper (or the screen as it may be). So here I sit, thinking about all the things going on in this world and the one thing my thoughts keep coming back to are how another loved one has to fight a losing battle. As my sister recently put it, “I have too many names on my Pelotonia jersey.”

So now that I have finished my first post, I hope you stick around to read more of my articles that may incite more controversy, and as such, create some good dialog!
